Rocky Point Retreat

LOCATION

Rocky Point Retreat Waterfront camp ground is located at Winfield, 63km north of Bundaberg and approx. 90km south of Agnes Water/Town of 1770, on the southern bank of Baffle Creek.

The 16-acre camping area is level, grassed, 2WD accessible and has 370 meters of Baffle Creek frontage which comfortably accommodates 21 waterfront sites (average 17m water frontage) and 21 non-waterfront campsites. including 7 powered sites.

WHAT WE OFFER

Since the first day of operation in January 2017, Rocky Point Retreat has developed from offering basic self-contained campsites to now being able to offer a range of accommodation options from self-sufficient powered & unpowered campsites to hire facilities which currently include a Luxury Family Tent, Luxury Family Cabin, Luxury Cabin, Onsite Vans, Luxury Ensuites, Mini Ensuites & Portaloos to cater for different types of guests.

CAMPGROUND FEATURES

 

  • Very large flat and grassed sites.

  • Bore water taps on each site.

  • Dump point located at the entrance.

  • Rubbish bin/recycle stations located throughout the campground.

  • Firepits supplied on all campsites. Small campfires are permitted in accordance with current government guidelines; rules apply.

  • Library/book exchange located at the entrance.

  • Boat ramp next to campground

  • Large off-leash area for dogs

GROUPS

Caravan/motor home clubs and large groups can easily be accommodated and sited together in any format.

 

BOAT RAMP
The public concrete boat ramp is located right next to the campground which is invaluable for guests who like to explore or fish the Baffle Creek estuary by boat.

​ABOUT US

The business is owned and operated by Darren & Kati Rasmussen and was established in January 2017. The campground offers a range of camping options and is operated in accordance with the Bundaberg Regional Council Nature Based Tourism code.

ESPLANADE

Rocky Point Retreat has a 40-meter non-camping buffer zone along the front boundary which allows all campers to enjoy the waterfront views. The esplanade is great for little bushwalks and birdwatching. Other native animals such as echidnas, kangaroos and lizzards etc. can often be spotted in the paddock close to the campground.

OUTDOOR PLAY AREA

There is heaps of room in the paddock for children (and adults) to have a run-around, play a game of soccer or cricket, fly a kite.  or ride push bikes.

PHONE RECEPTION

Telstra and Optus are good, Vodafone is very patchy.

Mangroves are a protected species -
please look after the environment
and don't destroy or damage any trees or habitat on the riverbank.
